Holding an event
The eight Royal Parks have a long, historic tradition of hosting events. From The Great Exhibition in 1851 to the spectacular rides of today’s Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, the parks host world class entertainment.
Making memories in the Royal Parks
Most people remember attending an event in Hyde Park. From the heady days of the 1960s, when The Rolling Stones played to thousands in the Cockpit Area, to watching Pavarotti in the Park as the heavens opened, to riding the world’s largest transportable roller coaster at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. Iconic concerts and national celebrations in the parks, especially Hyde Park, bring us together.
Music, marathons and free cinema
Some events we host are among the most popular and prestigious in the world.
From the London Marathon - which sees more than 40,000 runners begin the gruelling 26.2 mile run from Greenwich Park to the finish line, in front of Buckingham Palace in St. James’s Park.
To the Frieze London and Frieze Masters art fairs - featuring world class contemporary and historical art, and the free outdoor art display, Frieze Sculpture, hosted in The Regent’s Park.
Year-long entertainment in the Royal Parks
There’s an event for all seasons, from the summer extravaganza, BST Hyde Park to the magical Hyde Park Winter Wonderland.
BST Hyde Park
The best in live music and big name entertainment – from Adele, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder and Taylor Swift. During the days between concerts, our Open House keeps the party going with free open air screenings, live music, pop-up bars and street food. Everyone gets the chance to visit the event site and enjoy the long summer days.
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland – the world’s best destination for festive fun!
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland - Six weeks of fun, festive cheer and discovery with ice skating, views of the Serpentine and across London from The Giant Wheel, the Magical Ice Kingdom and thrilling Zippos Christmas Circus and Cirque Berserk shows.
Ceremonial events in the Royal Parks
As well as the major events, we also host ceremonial events in St. James’s Park, including the Trooping the Colour where over 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians come together each June in a great parade of military precision.
