Notification of Parks closure

All the Royal Parks, plus Brompton Cemetery have now reopened following a closure due to severe wind gusts. A number of areas including Victoria Tower Gardens, playgrounds, woodlands and gardens remain closed on Wednesday 1 January, with the aim to reopen these areas as usual on Thursday 2 January. Please refer to individual park pages and social media channels for specific details.
Due to severe wind gusts, all the Royal Parks, Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens will be subject to a delayed reopening on 1 January 2025. Please refer to individual park pages and social media channels for specific details.
This includes all park roads and cycleways, cafés and kiosks, Parks Sports venues, the Serpentine Lido and Boating Lake, the Royal Parks Shop and Hyde Park Winter Wonderland.
This is in line with our Tree Safety Policy and Emergency Plan relating to high winds.
All parks will undergo a safety inspection, and parks will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so. Some may remain closed for the entire day, reopening on 2 January. Updates will be issued via our website and social media channels.
The safety of visitors and staff is our top priority.
